POD

The Pod at Julien Elementary School is a choice program for students in kindergarten through third grade which is based on three major ideas: the concept of an “extended family,” the worth of the individual child, and a specially-designed open setting. Each Pod teacher has a home group comprised of students from all four grade levels.  These students remain with the same home group teacher for the four years they are in the program. Grade-level standards are taught with the grade-level teachers and each child’s intellectual, emotional, and social learning is nurtured in a caring and supportive environment.

If not accepted into the Julien POD Program, students must register at their designated home school attendance area.

Two-Way Immersion

Osborn Two-Way Immersion Academy works to ensure all students achieve linguistic proficiency in English and Spanish and excel academically while fostering positive cross-cultural understanding. Osborn students learn that people around the world have different customs, beliefs, and celebrations. They gain a broad perspective of the importance of a culturally diverse society where people strive to understand and respect one another.

Dual Immersion

The goals of Wakefield Elementary Dual Immersion Program are for students to develop high levels of language proficiency and literacy in both Spanish and English, successful academic achievement, and an appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures. Students will find a safe and welcoming environment where parents, teachers, administration, and support staff work hand-in-hand. We nurture Wakefield students to be well-rounded contributors to our global society. The world is theirs . . . the journey begins now.

Discovery Math & Science and Renaissance Visual and Performing Art

The Turlock Unified School District’s Renaissance & Discovery Magnet programs provide students with unique, specialized educational experiences through a S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, & Math) lens. The Renaissance Magnet uses the visual and performing arts to enrich the curriculum while the Discovery Math/Science magnet expands instruction through the lens of math and science. Each magnet program offers specialized elective offerings in grades 2-6 which are designed to equip students with 21st-century skills necessary for college and career.
