TUSD will once again offer a K-6 Home School Program for parents interested in teaching their students at home!
Program Information
TK-6 Home School Instructional Delivery
- Taught by parent/guardian at home
- District adopted curriculum & supplementary materials
- Instructional guidance from an assigned certificated teacher
- Participation in physical education & enrichment activities
Family Support System
Each student/family will be assigned a certificated teacher who will provide:
- District adopted curriculum & supplemental materials
- Parent instruction how to best teach the curriculum to student
- Digital Support
- Weekly office hours
Student Support System
Each student will receive an instructional program based on his/her individual needs:
- Acceleration to move ahead
- Acceleration to close the achievement gap
- Social Emotional support

Is there any difference with the curriculum taught compared to on campus instructions?
Home school students will use TUSD’s adopted curriculum with access to all supplemental hard copy and digital intervention/enrichment programs to provide home school students the same standards-aligned, engaging instructional materials as those attending school on campus.

What support will students and families receive?
TUSD focuses on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of each student in a variety of settings. Families who engage in the TK-6 Home School will receive support of the classroom teacher, school administration, and support staff to ensure student success.

Would students still be able to participate in extracurricular activities?
TUSD will work with parents to provide extracurricular opportunities in District programs although these are somewhat limited at the elementary level.
