Turlock Unified School District provides rigorous standards-based instruction to over 14,000 students in programs that include early childhood education, Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through grade 12, and adult education programs. Opening doors for all students through specialized programs as well as interventions and enrichments, TUSD teachers, staff and administrators strive to ensure each student masters grade-level standards and is college and career ready upon graduation.

Students at the TK-6 grade levels are served by TUSD’s nine elementary schools: Brown, Crowell, Cunningham, Earl, Julien, Medeiros, Osborn, Wakefield and Walnut. Across the district, numerous programs are offered to meet student needs at traditional neighborhood schools as well as at magnet programs, including Dual Immersion at Osborn and Wakefield and the math/science and fine/performing arts magnets at Walnut. eCademy Charter provides a home school option for elementary school students.  Additionally, specialized programs to meet individual needs, such as autism and mild/moderate special day classes, or specific interests, including POD and GATE, provide further opportunities for Turlock students.

Students at the 7-8 levels attend either Dutcher Middle School or Turlock Junior High School, each of which provides a strong transition from the self-contained elementary classroom to the expectations at the comprehensive high schools. Adolescent students have a wide range of academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular opportunities within TUSD and excel in their core classes, music, drama, and athletics.

Students at the 9-12 levels complete their college/career readiness pathway at one of the comprehensive high schools, Pitman or Turlock High School; additional options include Roselawn Continuation High School and eCademy Charter at Crane. Turlock Unified students are provided a wealth of opportunities through rigorous academic courses, dynamic electives, and outstanding co and extra-curricular activities which enrich their high school experiences. With a mission to “ensure that all students graduate as self-motivated, responsible citizens equipped to compete successfully in an ever-changing global society,” TUSD is committed to meeting the needs of the 21st Century learner with college prep and Career Technical Education (CTE) courses as well as courses and opportunities that develop essential skills in communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking with an emphasis on Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM).
