Positive Cases
- Staff who test positive for COVID-19 need to isolate at home for 5 days from symptom onset or test positive date. They may return to school on day 6 if they’re feeling well, have improving symptoms and are fever-free for 24 hours.
- Once COVID-positive individuals end their isolation period, there’s still a recommendation to wear a mask when out in public for 10 full days starting from the point of infection. But they can go maskless after two consecutive negative tests taken at least one day apart.
- Please report any positive COVID test to your supervisor and they will complete a form to

Exposures
- Exposed staff may continue to attend work as long as they are asymptomatic.
- Exposed staff, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status, should get tested for COVID-19 with at least one diagnostic test (antigen or PCR) within 3-5 days of last exposure, unless they had COVID-19 within the last 90 days and are asymptomatic. Masking around others for 10 days after exposure is strongly recommended.
- Exposures will be posted daily on the TUSD website.

Symptoms of COVID-19
- Staff who develop new, unexplained symptoms should not return to campus until symptoms are mild and improving or are due to non-infectious causes (allergies). This includes waiting until 24 hours have passed since resolution of fever without the use of fever-reducing medications. Additionally, if symptoms are consistent with COVID-19, it is strongly recommended staff wear a mask and get tested immediately. FREE antigen tests are available at all school sites/departments.
-
Testing
- Free COVID-19 antigen tests for screening purposes are available in TUSD.
