Financial Aid
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or California Dream Act Application (CADAA) determines a student’s eligibility for financial aid to assist with a student’s attendance at a college or career-technical school. TUSD counselors are available to assist ALL interested students and families with completion of the FAFSA/CADAA before the priority deadline of March 3, 2025.
California Education Code (CEC) § 51225.7 requires Turlock Unified School District to confirm each 12th grade student’s completion and submission of a FAFSA or CADAA unless the student is determined to be exempt or an opt-out form is completed by a student who is a legally emancipated minor, a student who is 18 years or older, a legal guardian, or parent, or a local educational agency on a student’s behalf. This opt-out form permits a student to opt out of completing a FAFSA or CADAA form.
After the March 3, 2025, priority deadline has passed, we will contact parents/guardians with more information on how to complete a FAFSA/CADAA Opt-Out Form. For now, our focus is on helping all interested students and families complete the FAFSA/CADAA to support post-secondary opportunities.
For more information, contact your student’s counselor to find out about upcoming FAFSA/CADAA workshops and to get additional support.
