High school athletics have the ability to unify a campus and community as student-athletes take to the field, pool, court, and track in pursuit of athletic excellence. Having the opportunity to compete in high school sports is a privilege that nearly one thousand students experience each year at Turlock High. Bulldog Athletics is rich in history and tradition dating over a century so even when confronted with the virus-related challenges we will face as a department this year, with anticipated near-40% of the THS Student Body participating in athletics, our great traditions will most certainly continue to be revealed and reinforced.
In response to the current situation the CIF has pushed back the start of high school sports until December. In order to offer all of its previously planned sports, the CIF is moving from three seasons to two. Typical fall sports will now be played in the winter as part of Season 1 while typical winter and spring sports will now be played during the same time in the spring as part of Season 2. Girls Tennis and Girls Golf are the exception and will merge with Boys in Season 2.
Turlock High Athletics would not be able to operate without the hard work of our coaches, athletic trainers, teachers, counselors, administration, maintenance and grounds crew, support staff and of course our families and fans. Additionally, we are not able to provide a comprehensive athletic program without the generous support of the THS Bulldog Boosters Club as well as the individual program booster clubs.
When we do begin the upcoming seasons in January I hope that you will find time to come out to support the Bulldogs.
