Art Club
Name: Art Club
Purpose: Art Club is for people who love art and love to create art.
Who can join: Anyone; Creative ideas come from all ages
Days/Times/Place of meeting: Thursdays, 2:55-3:55, room B101. (only 10 students per grade level)

Chess Club
Name: Chess Club
Purpose: Provide knowledge and experience for students interested in
playing chess.
Who can join: Any 7th or 8th grade TJHS student

CJSF (California Junior Scholarship Federation)
Name: CJSF (California Junior Scholarship Federation)
Purpose: Join a statewide organization that encourages positive attributes & be eligible for a college scholarship
Who can join: Students with good grades & behavior; 1st quarter open to 8th graders, 7th graders may join 2nd quarter.
Days/Times/Place of meeting: 2nd Tuesday (8th grade) & 2nd Thursday (7th grade) at 2:55 PM.

Creative Writing/Drama Club
Name: Creative Writing/Drama Club
Purpose: Students will meet to share ideas related to writing in a creative format. They will find ways to share their writing with their school and local community in various creative ways. Also, students will write short drama skits and share them with TJHS classes, and possibly students at local elementary schools.
Who can join: Meeting is open to all qualified 7th graders.
Days/Times/Place of meeting: Meetings will take place on Wednesdays at lunch in room D117.

E-Sports
Purpose: "The Mastery Esports League is a multi-month competition for youth esports. Schools will compete against others in the league and scores will be recorded over the length of the competition from week to week. Qualifying teams have the opportunity to participate in mid-season and post-season tournaments."
Who can join: 7th and 8th graders may join.
Days/Times/Place of meeting: Tuesdays, 3:00-4:00 in the library

First Priority
Purpose: Encourage friends to understand the importance of living in relationship with God, serve as a resource to help students enhance their spiritual lives and provide an opportunity to integrate beliefs into daily living.
Who can join: Anyone

GSA (Gay Straight Alliance)
Purpose: This club is a safe place where members of the LGBT community and allies of the community can get together to discuss current issues, play games, do crafts, and learn about LGBT history.
Who can join: 7th grade students
Days/Times/Place of meeting: Thursdays during 7th grade lunch-C 104

Peace Ambassadors
Purpose: Provide knowledge & experience for students interested in creating a positive school climate. Be a leader in planning and facilitating school-wide activities.
Who can join: Open to everyone

Peace Keepers
Purpose: Learn strategies to assist students with conflict management. To assist in keeping disagreements from escalating, discuss each point of view and reach a collaborative, fair resolution.
Who can join: Students with passing grades, positive behavior and positive attendance (applications must be submitted and only 15 per grade level will be accepted)

P.H.A.S.T.j.v. (Protecting Health And Slamming Tobacco)
Purpose:
The PHASTjv Youth Council is dedicated to fostering greater public awareness of the dangers of tobacco use while also providing an opportunity for members to participate in school and community activities designed to promote healthy lifestyles.Who can join: Everyone is welcome
Days/Times/Place of meeting: 2nd & 4th Tuesdays, lunch time, room M102

Robotics
Purpose: Each member will build a variety of robots within a team setting in order to complete a mission. Bring your friends and learn how to build and code robots.
Who can join: 7th or 8th grade student interested in building robots and other automated systems involving basic computer programming.

Science Olympiad
Purpose: Participating in Science Olympiad will help students gain in-depth scientific knowledge and other skills (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, problem-solving) useful in high school and college.
Who can join: Anyone who enjoys science, math, and engineering.

Purpose: To learn more about STEM opportunities and information in this area.
Who can join: Any 7th or 8th grade TJHS student

Tiger Pride/ASB
Purpose: Plan school wide activities to allow students to use their Tiger Bucks
Who can join: anyone can join
Days/Times/Place of meeting: Every other Thursday during lunch time. Will alternate 7th and 8th grade lunch times, room D102

Tuning and Tunes Guitar Club
Purpose: The club's purpose is to gain an appreciation of multiple styles of music, to play the guitar and see it as an avenue of creativity, and to express one's individualism through the crafting and playing of music.
Who can join: open to any 8th graders. Material requirements are still pending.
