  • Welcome Back!
We are very excited to see our students and are looking forward to a great school year!

    Learning in Two Languages
Our mission at Osborn is to, “Empower global citizens to achieve linguistic and academic success.” Our students’ challenge in learning to read, write, and understand mathematics and other subjects as they become proficient in two languages is demanding. But it is also exciting!
A number of academic studies indicate that there are many cognitive, social, and economic benefits to learning two or more languages. Remember that your child is in a challenging program and needs to hear positive and encouraging words from you about his or her academic and linguistic development.

Our entire staff are dedicated to supporting you and your child in this exciting educational adventure! Please feel free to contact us when you have questions or need assistance.

School attendance is vital to student learning. Every minute of the school day is especially important as your child works to improve academic performance in two languages. Please make sure that your child attends school on time every day for the entire school day!

    Uniform Dress Policy
All students at Osborn Two-Way Immersion Academy are encouraged to comply with the school uniform dress policy. If your child is not going to dress in school uniform, please contact the Osborn office (209-667-0893) and request a Uniform Waiver form.

    Wednesday Collaboration
Every Wednesday in the Turlock Unified School District is an early dismissal day to provide teachers time to collaborate in teams and plan instruction. A critical part of this time is devoted to providing our teachers time to engage in the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process.

PLC is an ongoing process in which teachers collaborate in teams to improve student learning by continuously working to answer these four questions:

    1. What do our students need to learn?
    2. How will we know when each student has learned it?
    3. How will we respond when some students don’t learn it?
    4. How will we respond when some students already know it?

At Osborn, this process is primarily focused on three big academic goals in our dual immersion program:
    • Reading at grade level in Spanish
    • Reading at grade level in English
    • Achieving at grade level in Mathematics

It’s going to be a great year!
On behalf of the Osborn staff, welcome to the 2019-20 school year…it’s going to be a great year!
