Principal's Message

  • Dear Families,

An exciting and productive new school year is awaiting your child!  We are all hopeful that you have enjoyed a fun and relaxing summer with family and friends. I want to welcome all our new families joining the Earl Explorer community. I would also like to welcome our new assistant principal, Chanthon Phe.  On the back of this letter there is an introduction to Ms. Phe.

A few reminders about the first day of school:

    • Please be mindful that it will be exceptionally busy, and the parking lot will be crowded, so work with us to ensure the safety of all Explorers on this first day and every day.
    • The school will provide all supplies that are needed, but you are welcome to purchase additional supplies, although not required. Further information will be provided by our teachers at our Back to School Night on Aug. 22nd beginning at 5:30 (new parent orientation) and 6:00 – 7:00 for classroom visits.
    • We ask parents to make their way off campus at the 8:30 bell in order to allow teachers to walk with their students to class without interruption. On this first day, we invite you to remain until 8:35 in order to see the location of the classroom, but please allow teachers the opportunity to focus on their new students and to begin working on important routines.
    • Our Earl Handbooks will include much more information, and will be sent home with your child.

    Sincerely,
    Paulo Pimentel, Principal

Assistant Principal's Message

  • Dear Parents and Guardians,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed assistant principal of Dennis Earl Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to assist in leading Earl with Mr. Pimentel and join Turlock Unified School District. I have been an educator for a total of fifteen years. I have taught general and special education students. Most recently, I was an administrator for four years in pre-K through sixth grade elementary schools in the Modesto City Schools District.

I have lived in Turlock for fifteen years where I raise both of my children.  I love working with children and I believe in the strength of a team working together for the success of children’s learning. I feel strongly that children need to be healthy and feel safe to learn. I will work with you and the Earl Team to ensure that all children are encouraged to do their personal best and feel safe at Earl. As an educator, I love building community and bringing people together. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Earl and work with you as a team in education for your children’s success in learning. I am looking forward to meeting you soon!

    Sincerely,
    Chanthon Phe
    Assistant Principal
