Volunteer Information

Welcome Volunteers!

Turlock Unified School District values the partnership of parents, guardians, and community members who volunteer their time to support students. To ensure the safety of all students while making volunteering accessible, TUSD uses a three-level system for volunteer screening. Each level is based on the type of contact the volunteer will have with students, ranging from minimal interaction to direct, unsupervised involvement.

  • TUSD site administrators are ultimately responsible for determining and completing the appropriate level of screening for school volunteers at the school sites. Some additional notes include:
  • TUSD employees and TUSD students (e.g., CTE students) volunteering do not need to complete the volunteer application process. The school only needs to verify employment through Human Resources or the school site to verify enrollment.
  • CSUS students and Volunteer Coaches follow separate procedures.
  • When transporting students, adult passengers (such as spouses or friends) are not permitted unless they have completed the TUSD volunteer clearance process. Minors may ride along.
