Chomebook Insurance

2025-2026 Purchase Window

Portal will be open June 1, 2025, for families who would like to purchase their 2025-26 insurance before the beginning of the school year.  The Chromebook insurance enrollment window for all TUSD 6-12 grade students has been extended to September 15th, 2025. 

Chromebook Insurance Information

The enrollment window for Chromebook insurance for all TUSD students in grades 7-12 is now open for the 2025-2026 school year. The price is $49.00 with a zero deductible.  Families are strongly encouraged to purchase insurance to avoid costly repairs: 

  • Covers instances of accidental damage, loss, and theft
  • Unlimited claims
  • Full transferability to loaner devices
  • No deductibles/No hidden fees
  • No waiting period for claims

As a point of reference, below are the replacement costs if insurance is not purchased:

Keyboard $15
Top Cover $15
Palm Rest $25
Charger $40
LCD Panel $50
Total Replacement $350

You have two ways of purchasing insurance:

1. Online by visiting the link on the flyer or accessing the portal HERE.

2. By mail by printing out the flyer and mailing it in with a check (see flyers below).

How to File a Claim

For damaged devices:

File a claim under your account at schooldevicecoverage.com.

After you file your claim, print the claim form PDF or write down your claim number.

Take your damaged device and the claim information to your school library. You will be given a loaner device.

Your repaired device will be returned to you in two weeks.

For Loss or Theft: File a claim under your account at schooldevicecoverage.com. Notify the school of the incident and a police report will need to be filed within 5 days of discovery of the incident. Email to support@schooldevicecoverage.com a copy of the police report, your claim id, along with any fees that the school has or will issue to you for the lost/stolen device. Claim payment will be made to the Insured who will be responsible for paying the school for any imposed fees.
