Spring Dual Enrollment

  • October 6, 2022

    Dear Parent/Guardian,

Community College Spring Dual Enrollment is almost here! Dual Enrollment means students are enrolled in high school and college at the SAME time and can earn college credits while still attending high school.  These courses do not count towards high school graduation, but students can report courses/grades when applying to college. The grades earned will appear on a student’s COLLEGE transcript and become a part of a student’s college G.P.A.

    Some important reminders:

    • Students are responsible for withdrawing/dropping courses by the specific dates set by the college.
    • Dual Enrollment students are responsible for any books requested for purchase by the instructor, along with additional fees, which typically do not exceed $37.00 (for one course). Additionally, Merced College now includes an automatic $25/unit book fee. To avoid this fee, a student must opt-out. Students should receive an email to their Merced College email address from Follett that provides information on how to opt-out of the program.
    • Students enrolled in more than 11 units will be responsible for FULL tuition and fees (no fee waivers, $46/unit).
    • Any student enrolled at MJC or Merced College for Dual Enrollment classes should regularly check their college email for registration information, messages from college instructors, and any course details or assignments posted in Canvas. Again, it is VERY important that students are serious about their grade in any dual enrollment courses as they will count towards their college G.P.A.

Our TUSD College and Career counselors can support students in enrolling in Dual Enrollment courses but, beyond that, all further communication should be directed to MJC and/or Merced College:
