Adopted Resolution 17/2021-2022
Resolution of the Board of Trustees of the Turlock Unified School District Approving Adjustments to the Boundaries of the District's Trustee Areas Pursuant to Ed. Code Sec. 5019.5
Move from Odd to Even Year Elections
At the February 21, 2017, Board of Trustees Meeting, the Governing Board adopted Resolution No. 19/2016-17 approving the rescheduling of Board member elections from odd to even year elections. This Resolution was approved at the April 4, 2017, Stanislaus County Board of Supervisors meeting to consolidate and Hold Future Elections on the Same Day as the Statewide General Election Conducted in Even-numbered Years.
Move to by Trustee Election System
The Turlock Unified School District completed the process of moving from an "at large" election system to "by-Trustee" Area elections with Areas 1, 3, 5 and 7 in the November 2015 election and previously Areas 2, 4, and 6 in the November 2013 election.
The Stanislaus County Committee approved the election change following a public hearing on December 15, 2010. Using 2010 census data, proposed trustee area maps for seven trustee areas were drawn using an outside firm. The District held public hearings on June 7 and 21, 2011, to gather input on the trustee area maps. At the February 5, 2013, meeting the Board approved the final map.
