ACTIVITIES AT DMS

Teachers are seriously invested in getting students involved in school by providing their time and energy as advisors to a tremendous variety of extracurricular activities and clubs.

  • We have 12 different clubs that meet during lunch or after school.  They provide a large variety of social, academic, and leadership opportunities for students.
  • Our student council members campaign actively for their positions and play a significant role in planning and running our rallies, dances, and assisting in providing student input for direction in a multitude of school events.
  • Our interscholastic sports teams play against other schools throughout the Valley.  In addition to our annual drama Dutcher has several activities that are uniquely ours.
  • Every March Dutcher holds its Career Day.  Each child can choose from  29 professions that interest them. Volunteers from our community take their time to share the value of their profession and motivate students to start considering their future vocation.
  • On College Awareness Day our student body and their parents are able to get information directly from representatives from four colleges.  Significant effort is made to get them started with financial planning and provide the confidence that college is accessible to them.
  • One of the favorite activities of all students is the chance to attend dances.  Those evenings are filled with games, good music, and time with friends that is strictly social and fun.
